ShelfToPot Terms of Use

Last updated:22 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-22.1

The 6 things to know first

  1. ShelfToPot is a tool that helps you build bundles, posters and group-chat copy. It is not a marketplace: we do not take payments, deliver goods, or take part in sales between you and your customers.
  2. “Clearing” means turning produce that is still fresh but unlikely to sell into a bundle. It is not a way to sell spoiled, expired or untraceable food.
  3. Bundle prices and the “bought separately” comparison must be your real selling prices. You may not invent an original price.
  4. Copy, pricing hints and “estimated extra profit” generated by AI and the system are for reference only. Check them before you post.
  5. The merchant pilot is free; if we charge later, we will tell you in advance and will not bill you without your confirmation. Customers get 2 free recipe searches, then buy credit packs, which never auto-renew.
  6. Email shunyitian@163.com any time with questions.

Welcome to ShelfToPot (“ShelfToPot” or “the Service”). These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of ShelfToPot (“we”) about your use of the Service. Please read them carefully before you open your store, especially the parts in bold about limits on our liability and your key obligations. By ticking to agree, or by starting to use the Service, you confirm you have read and agree to these terms and the Privacy Notice.

The Service is currently designed for merchants operating in mainland China. This English text is provided for convenience; if it differs from the Chinese version, the Chinese version prevails.

1. Who may use it, and what the Service is

The Service is for merchants who run stores selling fresh food in mainland China (sole proprietors, companies and other businesses). You must be at least 18, have full legal capacity, and have authority to accept these terms for your store.

ShelfToPot is a software tool: from the produce details you give it, it generates bundle plans, posters and group-chat copy, and helps you record order counts and estimate results. We are not a party to the sale of goods or services, we take no part in transactions between you and your customers, we do not collect payment for you, and we do not deliver. Customers order in your own channel, such as a WeChat group; orders, payment, pickup and after-sales are handled directly between you and your customers.

2. Account and sign-in

  • Using the Service requires an account: register with a mainland China mobile number or an email plus a password, and verify it by SMS code or an emailed link. If you forget your password you can recover it the same way. You must give a number or email that is genuine and that you are entitled to use.
  • Look after your password, device and phone number; do not rent or lend your account or hand over a signed-in device. Actions taken through your account are treated as yours. You can delete your account at any time under “My store → Delete account”.
  • During the pilot you may ask our operators to enter information for you. By asking, you agree that we act on the information you give, and you confirm it is true and that you are entitled to provide it.

3. Your content and the licence you give us

The store information, prices, photos, copy and other content you provide (“Your Content”) remain yours or the original rights holder’s.

To provide the Service, you give us a non-exclusive licence, for as long as you use the Service, to use Your Content: to store, copy and process it, to generate bundles and posters, to pass it to providers that serve us (including servers outside mainland China, see the Privacy Notice), and to show it to those you designate once you confirm. We will not use Your Content to train models.

We may use de-identified or anonymised aggregate statistics (for example, “the average share of a type of produce cleared”) to improve the Service; they do not identify your store.

You warrant that Your Content is lawful, that you are entitled to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone’s portrait, privacy, trademark, copyright or other rights.

4. Your commitments as a merchant

What you sell in a bundle, and how you sell it, is your own business conduct. You commit that:

  • Licences and food safety. You hold the licences needed to trade in food (unless the law exempts you), and you are responsible for the quality, safety, shelf life and hygiene of what you sell. “Clearing” means turning produce that is still fresh but unlikely to sell into a bundle. You must not use it to sell rotten, spoiled, expired or untraceable food, or food that does not meet food-safety standards.
  • Real prices. Bundle prices and comparison prices such as “bought separately” and “reference price” must rest on your real, actually applied selling prices. You must not invent an original price, a fake discount or any other price deception. The system works out “bought separately” from the unit prices you enter; you are responsible for their accuracy.
  • No exaggeration. Copy must not use absolute claims such as “best” or “No. 1”, must not claim to treat or prevent disease or to have health benefits, and must not make false comparisons with other merchants.
  • Flag allergens and how to eat it. Where a bundle contains common allergens such as eggs, shrimp or soy products, you should say so in the copy; for items that must be thoroughly cooked (such as green beans), keep the notice the system provides and do not remove it.
  • Your decision to sell at a loss. When the bundle price is below cost the system asks you to confirm again; whether to sell that way is up to you. You must not sell below cost to push out competitors.
  • Honour what you promise. The portions, deadline and pickup method in your copy must be honoured; customer complaints and after-sales are yours to handle.
  • Check AI-generated content. What you post to your group is your responsibility; re-read the price, portions, time and notices before you post.
  • Follow third-party platform rules. When you post or run group marketing on WeChat or other platforms, you must also follow that platform’s rules. Tax, invoices and other business compliance are your own responsibility.

5. Notes for customers

  • The page opened from a poster’s QR code shows the method, ingredients and price of a bundle the merchant sent to their group. Prices, portions, deadline and pickup are as the merchant states. Whether a deal happens, how you pay and how you collect is between you and the merchant (usually in a WeChat group); ShelfToPot is not a party to the sale.
  • Recipe methods, calories and allergen notes are for reference only and do not replace checking packaging, ingredient lists and medical advice yourself. If you have allergies or dietary requirements, confirm them yourself. Cook meat, eggs, seafood, green beans and similar ingredients thoroughly.
  • Photo recognition can get ingredients wrong or miss some; please check before you rely on recommendations. We do not keep the photos you take; to prevent abuse and control cost, each person has a daily limit on recognitions.
  • “Nearby stock” asks your browser for location each time; the location is used only for that one distance calculation and is not stored.
  • Recipe search is charged per use: you get 2 free uses when you register; each time you tap “Find recipes” and get recommendations, 1 use is spent. Changing filters or searching again with the same ingredients within 30 minutes is not charged again, and a search that returns no recipes is not charged. Photo recognition itself is not charged, but you cannot use it once your uses run out. You can then buy a credit pack at the price shown on the purchase page; payment is handled by Stripe (WeChat Pay, Alipay or card), is one-off, and never auto-renews.
  • Credits do not expire, cannot be transferred and cannot be exchanged for cash. A pack you have not used at all can be fully refunded if you email us within 7 days of purchase; used packs are not refunded. If you paid but the credits did not arrive, email us and we will add them once we have checked. If you delete your account, any remaining credits lapse without refund.

6. The nature of AI output, suggestions and estimates

Bundle plans, pricing hints, group-chat copy, “estimated extra profit” and “this week’s results” are reference information generated by code and language models from the data you provide. We check the factual parts (prices, portions, times and so on) with code, but we do not guarantee that they are entirely accurate or complete, nor that using them will sell more, earn more or reduce waste. Estimates rest on how you said you usually handle unsold produce and on the figures you enter; they are not exact accounts and are not financial, tax or legal advice.

Recipes are for reference. Handle and eat food according to common sense and food-safety requirements; if you have special health needs, follow medical advice.

7. Fees

The Service is free during the pilot, and your store has a 14-day trial after you open it. If we charge in future, we will tell you the price and billing method at least 15 days in advance; we will not charge you before you confirm, and we will not auto-renew or auto-debit. If you disagree you can stop using the Service.

8. Intellectual property

The ShelfToPot name, logo, interface design, software, poster templates and bundle template library, and the text in them, belong to us or the relevant rights holders. We permit you to use the posters and copy you generate for the operation of your own store.

Without permission you may not copy, scrape or bulk-export the template library, resell or sub-license the Service, or remove or cover ShelfToPot branding (unless we agree in writing).

Generated posters and copy may resemble others’; we do not guarantee originality.

9. What you may not do

  • Publish content that breaks the law, infringes others’ rights, or is false or fraudulent.
  • Upload content unrelated to the produce you sell, or content containing others’ personal information or likeness without their consent.
  • Attack, probe or disrupt the Service, bypass sign-in, access controls, rate limits or other safeguards, or upload malware.
  • Use scripts to register or call the Service in bulk, or abuse the SMS-code feature.
  • Reverse-engineer or decompile the Service, or try to obtain source code or model prompts.
  • Impersonate another store, or otherwise harm the lawful rights of ShelfToPot or other users.

10. Changes, interruption and termination

The Service is in a pilot stage: features may change, and it may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control (such as a third-party outage). We will try to limit the impact and will tell you in the web app in advance of material changes.

If we find you have breached these terms or the law, we may, as appropriate, warn you, restrict features, or suspend or end the Service, and we will tell you why through the web app or email (unless the law forbids it). If you object, you can appeal by email.

You may stop using the Service at any time. To have your data deleted, email shunyitian@163.com; see the Privacy Notice for how it is handled. After the Service ends, we handle your data as the Privacy Notice describes.

11. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows: (1) we are not liable for liability or loss arising from Your Content or your business conduct (including the quality and safety of what you sell, prices, advertising, fulfilment and after-sales), which are yours to bear; (2) we are not liable for your indirect loss or loss of expected profit or revenue; (3) where a third-party service (such as WeChat, cloud hosting, language models or SMS) is unavailable and causes an interruption or data error, we will help restore it as best we can but accept no liability beyond what the law requires; (4) our liability for your direct loss is capped at the fees you actually paid us in the 12 months before the loss, and where that is less than RMB 500, at RMB 500 (which is the cap while the Service is free).

These limits do not apply to loss caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, to liability for personal injury, or to any other liability the law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

12. Personal information protection

How we collect, use, store and share your personal information, and your rights, are set out in the Privacy Notice, which forms part of these terms.

13. Notices and changes to these terms

We may notify you in the web app, by announcement on the website, or at the email address you leave. You can contact us at shunyitian@163.com.

We may amend these terms. The amended version will show its date and version; for changes to your important rights and obligations we will tell you in the web app at least 7 days ahead. If you do not agree you may stop using the Service; continuing to use it after the change takes effect means you accept the amended terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (for this purpose excluding the laws of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan).

Disputes arising from these terms should first be settled by friendly consultation; failing that, either party may bring proceedings in the people’s court with jurisdiction where we (the operator) are located.

15. Other

If any part of these terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not exercising a right does not waive it.
